Arauco Medical Consultants take extreme pride in our confidentiality systems and are in compliance with the
Health Insurance Portability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). We have safeguards in place to prevent the use or disclosure of a
participant’s personal health information (PHI) other than as provided for by the law.

Medical Referral – When screening results meet threshold criteria, participants are encouraged to seek medical attention and are provided with a Medical Referral Form that includes documentation of their results. Health Coaching – Each participant receives a one-on-one review of screening results and a discussion of immediate health risks.

When the appointment system is used, each employee is checked off from the list of appointments when they
arrive. When an employee does not have an appointment, the employee is accommodated if a time slot is available
at that time. If a time slot is not available, the clerk allows the walk-in employee to select any available time slot in
the schedule. After checking in, the employee completes an informed consent form prior to starting the screening
process. When the employee completes the form, the clerk directs the individual to an open screening station. The
Arauco Medical Consultants staff at the screening station reviews the informed consent form to make sure it is
completed correctly. Throughout the screening, the screening technician explains the tests performed and records
results on a form which the employee will keep. The health educator provides one-on-one coaching on screening
results and any immediate health risks. The typical time for screening is 12 to 15 minutes.
